Wishbone Day 2012

May 6th, 2012...it's Wishbone Day once again!!
I realize that I've been terrible at blogging lately...I've just been enjoying the days with my two little ones, playing outside, and getting projects done.
But today is too important not to Blog about!

Happy Wishbone Day!!

Cayden was so excited this morning when I told him what day it was.  He squealed his little squeal and had the biggest grin on his face!  He quickly asked me where his "Ham-bone" shirt was :-) I said "Wishbone, hunny,"  and he replied "Oh yeah, mom. Wishbone!"  He sure has a way to get me with even just the littlest things.  I love this boy too too much :-)
So we celebrate him today...and the so many others affected with Osteogenesis Imperfecta.  The strength in these little ones amazes me everyday...especially my Cayden's.
So we played...
all in our Wishbone shirts:-)

Daddy asked Cayden what he wanted to do on his special day, and he said after his nap he wanted to go fishing!  So that's exactly what we did!  :-)  The four of us walked around the back yard and found plenty of worms (even Mya, walking close behind!), then we packed up the car and headed out!  Off to a friend's pond, with snacks and juice boxes and Cayden's brand new fishing pole!
Daddy helped him cast and hook a good one, then Cayden reeled it in.
Three years old!!
Then Daddy taught him how to watch the bobber real close, and YANK the line with all his little might when a fish pulled it under water...the reel it in all by himself!  So he watched...and squealed his squeal when the red and white bobber disappeared under the water...with lots of clapping and encouragement he yanked that pole and started reeling...laughing all the while! Here he is with his VERY FIRST fish caught ALL by himself!!  Daddy was so proud!  And mommy was sure happy she brought her camera!
What a big guy!
Number 1!

And then he did it again!!
Number 2!!
The fish then went to sleep and weren't biting much anymore...so we went home, bathed, ate dinner, then I tucked my big, Brittle Bone Boy into bed, in his Wishbone shirt....I couldn't peel him out of it!

What did you do today?!
Maybe you thought of one of these precious kids today...and maybe that kid was mine!  :-)
Thanks so much for the support we get everyday...not just on this day...for our wonderful boy!
Wouldn't change a thing!

Cayden Sings!....and it makes me SMILE!

Here's Cayden with some of his random tunes! This boy cracks me up.. He picks up on the words of a song after only hearing them once or twice, then dances around the house singing and acting them out! Here he is singing Red Solo Cup!

He loves to make up his own songs too, like this catchy tune called "I Can't Eat My Vegetables!" He talks here about "I can't eat my vegetables, cause I don't like vegetables! So I can't grow!" If this doesn't brighten up your day...there's something really wrong with you!! ;-)

Love him!

My Little Miss

~Mya Brynn~
16 Months
She's...
Adorable, but anxious.
Beautiful, but bossy.
Cute and cuddly, but crazy and crabby.
A Daddy's girl, but a diva.
Energetic.
Fabulous, funny and friendly, but fierce and feisty.
Gorgeous, giggly and girly, but grumpy.
Hilarious, but high-maintenance.
An Individual striving for Independence, but Insecure.
Joyful.
Kind.
A Lover and a Laugher.
Magical, but a maniac.
Nice, but needy.
Observant, but oppositional.
A Petite, Pretty Princess, but a punk!
Queen of the world...in her own eyes.
Ready to learn, but resilient.
Silly and Special, but sassy.
Thoughtful and Talkative, but trouble.
Undeniably and Utterly mine.
Vivacious.
Wonderful, but wild.
X-tra special to me!
Youthful and Yummy!
Zany and Zippy!

But she's mine.
And I love her for all that she is.
And in Mommy's eyes, there will always be infinitely more positives than negatives.

Hunting, Holidays and Family Fun!

This year, it took a little while for summer to fade into fall. So my boys took full advantage of the good weather! They practiced their bow skills until the sun faded away into night!
Cayden is a quick little learner...he does pretty darn well! (With some help of course) I'm sure he'll be the great hunter his daddy hopes he'll be one day!
So proud of his accomplishments! Using the same wooden bow Daddy used when he was little :-)
During squirrel season, Cyle took Cayden down to sit by the river that runs along our property. Cayden learned how to call for squirrels, and sat surprisingly quietly with dad while they waited to see one. Cyle tells me Cayden sat in the dirt, digging holes with his hands while making squirrel noises...for about 45 minutes! He was quick to spot a squirrel up in the tree, and helped Dad aim and shoot! This is how he came home to me!

"Look Mama!! We shoot-ed a 'Fwerrrrll!"
And when Daddy got a doe this year, Cayden was right by his side when he got home to check it out and take some pictures! He was SOOO proud of his Dad! He asked night after night if he could go out hunting with Cyle...maybe next year, Buddy...still not sure if he'd be quiet enough to lure in the big ones!
Halloween rolled around, and PamPaw bought Cayden and Mya some pumpkins to carve. So we sat around the table and worked really hard on making some great pumpkins this year...
We put our spooky pumpkins out on the front porch then took advantage of the good weather and played together! Mya just adores her big brother!
Then it was time to head out! This year we went Trick-or-Treating with a whole bunch of good friends in Van Wert. We had 11 kids total...thankfully enough moms and dads to keep track of all the little ghouls!
Around Thanksgiving time, Aunt Joy came to town with her littlest bundle, Annaston, and Cayden's buddy Mason. We all went to GG's house and celebrated together!
Grandma took the big boys to see Mr. Roy, who was farming that day...They sit in this big green combine and get to help do some farming!! Such lucky boys! Cayden absolutely LOVED it!
Cayden was so adorable with Baby Anna...he kept checking on her and whispering sweetness to her.
Cayden has really turned into a big boy this Fall. He says some of the funniest things sometimes, and I really wish I had a constant video recorder running in my house to capture it all...I just hope my memory can hold it all over the years.
This little Turkey is growing before our eyes too!
She is so sassy and silly!
It has been such a fun fall! Exploring and discovering so many new things in our new home - making friends and making memories. Couldn't ask for anything more! Of course we miss all of our family that's far away...Love you!

Oh my Goodness...Time Flies

So I've realized that Time Flies. Really.
I haven't posted at all since we made our big move in April. So I decided to sit down and get it done! There's lots that has gone on since we moved, and it would take a book to tell it all in words, so I'll post pictures of our last four months instead!
The last day of March, we arrived at our new home in Venedocia, OH. You can see it in the eyes of my boys that this was a move that was going to make them both very happy! We pulled up to the house in the moving truck- Cayden climbed up with Daddy and took a look at our new land with his binoculars!
We quickly settled in and on day 2 we got Cayden a bunny to play with in our new back yard...He LOVED him! He named his new friend RUDY!
Cyle has been working really hard at getting his new business going. He is working with Big Tom, as usual, and doing pretty well so far! Cayden loves to relax with the two of them when they get home from a hard days work!
We have had friends over to play, which Cayden absolutely LOVES! He loves to show everybody his new room and run like crazy in the yard. We invited Jackie, Mark and their girlies over for some kid and parent fun! We all had a great time. The kids were sweaty from running around, and the house was a mess...but SO worth it :-)
Cayden and Hadley have a special bond!
Cyle and Cayden planted tomato plants, peppers and lettuce...and Cayden has been such a good helper watering them every day!
Once the weather started improving, Daddy bought Cayden a bright yellow Volkswagon Bug car from a friend for pretty cheap. We thought this would be perfect for him in the yard - there's lots of space to cruise around!
Yellow just wasn't good enough though. Daddy and Cayden decided that a CAMO hunting vehicle would be SO much cooler! So Cyle made it happen...
And that made little Chump SO happy!
Mya may look scared (I would be too...Cayden is a crazy driver!), but she really does LOVE to take rides!
Since we've moved, we've been spending a ton of time playing outside. It's so nice here, set back, surrounded by trees, with a big yard to play in - we can't resist taking advantage of it! We taught Cayden how to play Tee-ball...and he picked it up so quickly! He's a natural! Look at that stance! He really whacks the ball too!
Mya takes a rest on the blanket, just taking it all in...
We've gone to the lake a few times this summer too. Cayden is really growing up, and doing a lot of new things that he wouldn't do last summer. He loves the water and really loves fishing with Dad!

My Big Guy turned 3 on July 19th. Can't even believe it. He's such a big boy now! Our babysitter had a big party for him that day, with a birthday hat, dinosaur cupcakes and even presents! She's so good to them...and Cayden had a blast! He doesn't hesitate to tell everyone he knows that he's "free" now, holding up three little fingers!
And this one. What can I say about her?! She's nutso! Mya definitely has a little mind of her own, and will do things in her own time. She's so darn cute, but has the attitude of a teenager already sometimes!! She's not crawling or walking, but sure can get around by scooting on her bottom! I think she's adjusting to this new country life pretty well too - she also loves to play outside, especially when big brother is doing something entertaining! She's quite the handful sometimes..and I've adopted the phrase "I've got one child with special needs, and one with LOTS of needs!" But I wouldn't change it for the world!
There's more to come...
