The time has come...

The time has come...for my little family to pack up and move to Van Wert.
And it came quickly.
I have been applying to positions in several hospitals there, and waiting...knowing that the move was somewhere on the horizon. Cyle really wanted to get moved back there to make the most of the spring and summer season, the time when he would have the most work there to do. So we put our house on the market, and we waited. We then heard from one of Cyle's friends, that there was a new position opening at the county hospital, and encouraged to apply. So I did. The very next day at work, I faxed an application. Three days later I received a call, requesting an interview for the position. Excited, anxious and
nervous, we set up an interview for the following Monday. We drove to Van Wert for the weekend, and stayed through Monday for my interview. It went SO well. I returned to Pampaw's house afterward, answered all sorts of questions about how it went from Cyle, and I was really excited about it all. The manager there told me that she would call me either way, so I waited. And we headed home. Tuesday morning, on my way to work, I received a call and an offer to accept the position. With a few more questions, I gladly accepted.
I will be the newest employee on the Surgical Team at Van Wert County Hospital.
Completely new territory for me...not only the position, but the lifestyle...but I've always been one that's up for a good challenge!
The kicker....Start with orientation in 2 weeks.
So that very day, I gave my 2 weeks in the Peds ER, and got a few
of my last shifts covered so we can successfully make the move so quickly. My hubby is over the moon about this!! He's like a kid in a candy store! He's wanted this for quite some time now, and has been in Van Wert working on the new house since the day I accepted the position! Cayden is becoming more aware that we will be moving to Pampaw's house...and is quick to tell everyone that he's "going to Van Werk!!"
So here I am writing this..it's Tuesday. The moving truck will be here on Thursday. That's 2 days from now.
I am really very excited to begin this new phase of our lives, and I really think this is going to be a wonderful move for my little family. Cyle is so excited to raise his babies where he was raised, and I'm looking forward to being a part of that as well.
But there's still some part of my heart that's sad. A part that triggers random tears. A part that's a combination of sadness and fear that will only be overcome when I get there, and I find out that it's all going to be okay. A part that's going to miss my family and friends more than I've ever missed anyone or anything in my life.
And it will be okay.
And we'll be back here to visit just as much as we've been to Van Wert to visit over the years...and that's quite a bit!
So with tears and smiles, all at the same time...we're off. Off to a new chapter of our story, but I'll never stop flipping back to the old pages!

3 for 1 Special!

In this post, I want to include 3 special days that we encountered this month! Lots of cute photos (of course) and some updates!
First, and Most Important...
March 16th, 2011- Our Boy Cayden celebrated One Year Break-Free!!
A year has passed, without a cast!
We are so proud...more than we could ever express with words. Milestones seem so much sweeter when we have never travelled this path before, and didn't really know what we were going to be in for...So everyday is a new journey, and we will continue on this path with Cayden far into the future. If it continues like this, I'm confident we will all be just fine!

To my Cayden,
Mama and Daddy love you more than you'll ever know. We are so proud of the boy you've become in your two and a half short years. Your strength, personality and perseverance absolutely amaze us everyday. You are a joy, and the brightest light in our lives. You have worked so hard in therapy this last year, and have become so much stronger and confident. You are smarter than I can even believe sometimes, and are well aware of your capabilities and limitations with your "brittle bones." Continue to do great work...grow big and strong like daddy! We believe that you can achieve anything, and we will be standing right behind you through it all. Love you, Lover!
xoxo

Next, came St. Patrick's Day! I saw this as a good photo opportunity! They were too darn cute not to capture them together!

And last, but certainly not least, my Mya mouse turned 7 months! I never posted her weight for her 6 month doc visit, but she was 15 pounds 9 ounces at that point...and she's still growing! Mya is very particular about what she likes, and what she doesn't. For the most part, she's a pretty serious little stinker. There's one thing that brings the biggest smile to her face, without a doubt...everytime...and that's the sight of DADDY. She's obsessed. I could be with her all day long, and maybe she'll crack an occasional smile...but when Dad comes home from work, the grin is from ear to ear, and the giggles begin! Jealous...but it's really pretty cute!
She's working on sitting independently these days, and she's starting to get the hang of it!

Always checking things out around her...very observant!
The stink face!
But so stinkin' lovable!
This week couldn't have gotten much better! I'm lucky!

Full Speed Ahead!

Cayden has been sick now for over a month. Since his little stay at the hospital, he just hasn't been able to kick this illness. He had respiratory problems, double ear infections and fever...then seemed to be getting better until the cycle repeated itself. The croup and fevers came back, then another double ear infection. This last week has been rough for him - the fevers went away, but then came to poops. My big old chump hasn't been eating or drinking much of anything, and spent much of his days saying "I want to snuggle you, mommy." Though I'll admit I LOVE to snuggle him, I hated to see him this wiped out. We seem to be doing better now...let's just hope it lasts this time. We need a vacation in warm weather to really kick this!!
So with him not feeling well, and being pretty confined to the house, we decided a few weeks ago to go out and buy him lots of new pieces for his favorite train track! Before, we could really only make the simplest of tracks...but now...Daddy can build THIS!...

Cayden plays trains for hours! His latest phrases while playing are "Derailed!, All-Aboard!, and Full Speed Ahead!!" He cracks me up!
Really Adorable!

After days of not eating, and not wanting anything, last night Cayden told Daddy "I want Bix-its!" We were happy to hear his request for food, and Cyle decided to have some fun with it. So Daddy taught his boy how to make Biscuits :-)
First they rolled it...Then patted it!
And rolled it some more...together.
"I'm makin' CIRCLES! Circle Bix-it's!"
Then they got fancy and made Cayden's very own Long Neck Biscuits!
They watched them "get bigger" in the oven, then loaded them up with "Brudder!" (butter)
After all of that hard work, I think Cayden ate approximately 4 bites...but we were happy with that - and look how much fun he had!!
